Think Zwift meets Kinomap!
Rouvy is a free online and mobile platform, for both iOS and Android that allows you to run real-world routes with your own created avatar.
Before you can use Rouvy you need to sign up and make an account. It is really easy to use and is best used alongside your NoblePro E8i or E8.0 to explore new 14 different real-world routes in various locations.
What can Rouvy control and why?
You cannot create your own workouts on the run option of Rouvy. We suggest Rouvy is best used alongside the treadmill as an activity tracker and motivational virtual environment.
Please note: If you want to create your own specific training workout and let the treadmill control the pace and distance, we recommend Kinni.
Kinni also has the ability to connect multiple apps at once with a feature called FitCast! Check it out!
How do Rouvy and NoblePro treadmills work together?
On the Rouvy app there are two types of run you can do on your NoblePro Elite treadmill:
- Training – Complete and improve your training on a particular route
- Time trial – Compete against the clock to secure the fastest time
If you are wanting to do a more specific training workout, we recommend Kinni, Zwift or Kinomap as these platforms provide an enhanced workout option.
Please note: the Rouvy platform cannot control your treadmill.
Zwift vs Kinomap vs Rouvy
Zwift, Rouvy and Kinomap can appear quite similar as they all involve running in an online world. The main differences are that Rouvy has only 14 different running routes compared to the plentiful routes of Kinomap and Zwift.
Kinomap and Rouvy use real-world videos instead of Zwift’s fantasy worlds.
You can create your own avatar on Rouvy (similarly to Zwift) so when you explore the real-world routes you can envisage very easily that you are really there! Kinomap does not allow avatar creation.
You can also unlock badges/achievements with all of these platforms to help keep motivation high!
Rouvy vs Strava/Trainingpeaks
Connecting your Rouvy account to your Strava and TrainingPeaks accounts cannot be done through the app and must be done on the Desktop version. Once you are connected, it is really easy to send your workout directly to these third-party apps from Rouvy by clicking on the ‘send’ button next to the relevant app on the right hand side of the screen (once you have connected your accounts). This is visible once you have opened up the activity you wish to export.
Rouvy will track your activities and progress in a Training Diary on the Desktop version in a similar way Strava/TrainingPeaks. You can see the data from your workout such as duration, distance, speed, power and more. You can also manually add activities to this training diary.
