We know how difficult it can be to keep up with the latest software and hardware developments, which is why we created the NoblePro FTMS Bluetooth Modules. This module takes care of fitness data communication and Bluetooth Audio.
This means any firmware updates, and new Bluetooth features we publish do not require any new hardware!
The chipset that ships with our Elite treadmills (E8i and E8.0). And, since release v2 (mid-2020) and v3 (2021 onwards), you are able to update your treadmill’s chipset via Bluetooth!
All you need is a quick update via the NoblePro Firmware update app.
How to update the firmware
Firmware is not a normal software update, and it will take a few extra steps. Please be patient, and follow these steps exactly. If you have any questions or issues, please get in touch with us, and we will help you.
Step 1
First, you need to get the latest version of the Firmware update app (iOS, Android)
Open it up, and tap the button that says “Download latest firmware” to download the latest firmware files to your device.
Step 2
Turn your treadmill off, and then on again.
This is just to make sure that the chips are not connected to other devices.
Step 3
Using the Firmware update app, scan for Bluetooth devices and look NoblePro Connect – this is the DATA chip.
Step 4
Tap on NoblePro Connect in the list to connect to it.
Then, switch tabs, and tap the firmware file called “noblepro-connect-v3“ to select it.
Tap the “Flash new firmware” button.
This will flash the FTMS chip, and could take a few minutes.
If flashing the "
noblepro-connect-v3.ufw
" file fails, please try using this file instead.
Step 5
Please reboot both:
- Your phone / tablet
- The treadmill
This is very important! ⚠️ firmware is not just a normal software update, and requires a reboot of both devices afterwards.
Step 6
All done!
- All screens purchased after 26th December 2021 have the new modules
- Open up your screen carefully, and look at the colours of the chips themselves.
→ The v2 chip is red, and the v3 chip is black.
Troubleshooting
no file key error
Use the no-key file to update the firmware
Unknown Device
If the NoblePro Go app finds an Unknown device, please make sure to reboot your iOS device after flashing the firmware. This is a known issue with the iOS operating system, and unfortunately not something we can fix from our side.
Can’t find the treadmill
The treadmill is likely connected to another app. Disconnect all apps from the device before updating.
